Liebster Award Nomination

Alright, so apparently you guys want to know more about me, which is totally fine by me. 🙂 I was nominated by Mojoreb for this award on July 13th and it’s only taken me 4 days to get around to it, but my thanks go out all the same.

“What is the Liebster Award? (Excerpt from Mojoreb’s blog which they took from Michenko)

“Liebster” is a German word meaning beloved, dearest, sweetheart, or darling.

For bloggers, the Liebster Award is an online recognition given by other bloggers to new bloggers for enjoying or appreciating their work. It highlights up and coming blogs.

Once nominated, a blogger is asked to answer 11 questions provided by the nominating blogger. They are then expected to nominate 11 other favorite new bloggers and come up with a list of 11 new questions for those nominees.

Rules:

1. Thank the person who nominated you and link their blog
2. Answer the 11 questions the person asked you
3. Nominate 11 people (comment on their blog to let them know)
4. Ask the people you have nominated 11 questions.

My Questions from Mojoreb:

What is your dream job?

I have quite a few dream jobs actually. So ideally I would LOVE to be a travel agent. I love to travel and I love to plan trips both big and small. For our anniversary each year I plan a little weekend trip to coordinate with the traditional gift for the year (Year 1 was paper so I bought my husband a map to tracks all the places we go together; Year 2 was Cotton so we went to Charleston, SC and visited a working Cotton Farm as part of an old Plantation; Year 3 was leather so we went to a Dude Ranch in South Dakota [the leather of the saddle was the only thing I could think of] and we made a stop by Mt. Rushmore; Year 4 was silk/linen and so we went to New Mexico for a ride in a hot air balloon, since those were traditionally made out of silk; and Year 5 is wood and this weekend we are flying out to the Redwood Forest in CA for a quick little visit). I would also LOVE to restore old houses to their former glory and stock them with period matching furniture. How fun would that be? Obviously I would have to keep one of the houses and it would probably be the one with the largest library. And I always imagine that one day I’ll be the president of the United States, so that’s in there too.

If you could live in any world from a book, where would it be?

Oh my gosh, what a difficult question. Can I just visit them all? I think if I had to pick, I would have to say Outlander. Just in the sense that time travel would be possible and I could very likely meet Jamie Fraser. 😉

If you could hang out with any character from a book or movie, who would it be?

Uhm, I have a list. I would love to hang out with Juliana Fortis (The Chemist), Charley Davidson (The Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones), Queen Elizabeth I (from every movie and every book that has been written about her because she is my IDOL and I want to be just like her when I grow up), Lea Saldana (The Assassin’s Heart), Celaena Sardothien (Throne of Glass), and I could probably go on and on. Clearly I have a thing for female assassins, but what can I say?

What is your greatest fear?

Easy. Dying. I don’t want to. I tell everyone I meet that I will be the first person to live forever. It’s absolutely terrifying to me that one day I will just cease to be.

If you had one day to live, how would you spend it?

Probably sitting under a tree somewhere on a farm with horses, reading as many books as I could get my hands on (probably some fantasy to take my mind off of my impending doom), with my head resting on my husband’s chest. At some point I would like to request that it rain while we are under this tree though we wouldn’t get wet, because nothing calms me down faster than peaceful precipitation.

Do you have any hobbies outside of blogging?

Tons. Reading is my main one. I love to travel also, but that’s too expensive so I generally don’t do that too often (maybe twice a year). I have a bunch of pen pals scattered across the globe that I like to write letters to. I like to cross-stitch, which is definitely an old-lady habit but whatevs, I need something to keep my hands busy if I’m watching t.v., which doesn’t happen all that often. I like to Geocache and am definitely in to Pokémon Go.

What is your favorite TV show?

Oh goodness, Outlander, Game of Thrones, Orphan Black, Scandal (though I haven’t watched any episodes yet, I LOVE the premise), House of Cards, The White Queen/Princess series and The Tudors (which aired a long time ago, but I love it anyway).

Do you have any pet peeves?

I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate when I’m sending an e-mail, or just having a general discussion or anything along those lines and someone either doesn’t read everything I put in my e-mail or doesn’t answer a question I asked. It does not take THAT long to read something in its entirety and respond to any queries posed. I took time out of my day to write out what it is I needed you to know or needed you to answer for me and you couldn’t even dignify my e-mail with the appropriate amount of attention? #stabstabstab

I also dislike typos in books. Like those drive me absolutely bonkers.

What is the one thing you cannot live without?

Books, duh.

Best compliment you have ever received?

So this was a compliment on my work ethic (which I take great pride in) – there is an essay called A Message to Garcia by Elbert Hubbard and it’s about a message that needs to be carried to General Garcia who is working somewhere in some mountains, in the midst of a war between Spain and the United States. When trying to figure out who they can possibly get to carry this message, a fellow mentions to the President that a man by the name of Rowan would be able to find Garcia and deliver said message. Well Rowan delivers this message in four days. The whole point of the essay is that this Rowan character didn’t ask any questions, he just went out and did what was asked of him. One of my bosses at my last job told me that I was Rowan from “A Message to Garcia” and after reading the entire essay, I realized how meaningful this compliment was and I have never been able to forget it.

What is the one question you hate to answer?

So if you’ve looked at my About Me you’ll notice that I’m a redhead. People always ask me, despite the fact that both my eyebrows and eyelashes are also red/blonde, if I’m a natural redhead. Clearly. Because who actually dies their eyebrows and eyelashes in conjunction with their hair?

I’m sure that was a lot lengthier than what you were anticipating, but if you read it all the way through than you guys probably know me a lot better than you wanted to. I’m going to withhold nominating any of my fellow bloggers at the moment because I’m newer than most of them and I’m sure they’ve already been tagged numerous times, but I will pose 11 questions that you guys should feel free to answer in the comments below, or consider yourself tagged by me and answer in your own blog post.

  1. If you could choose one fictional character to be your significant other, who would you choose and why?
  2. What book do you remember the most from your childhood and why?
  3.  If you could have any animal follow you around everyday for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
  4. Do you believe in ghosts? If so, do you have any ghost stories to share? Ghost stories are my fav.
  5. What is your dream vacation spot?
  6. Do you think magic is real?
  7. What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you? I’ll show you mine if you show me yours. 😉
  8. Where is your favorite place (or ideal place if you don’t currently have a favorite) to read a book?
  9. Do you prefer rain or sun?
  10. Do you process your thoughts better through spoken words or written words?
  11. How long have you been blogging and what got you started on your journey?

Don’t be afraid to wax poetic guys. I want all of the gory details.

I loved your answers and getting to know you!! That’d be frustrating about people asking about your hair though?! I kind of understand because people always assume my hair is black and I’m like “NO IT’S BROWN USE YOUR EYEBALLS”.😂 Which, okay, is very different. But stillll. Hair woes.😂

Also omg I want to live forever too!?? I mean, for starters, we have too many books to get through. *nods*

I really loved this and will definitely be sharing my own post using your questions. And your answer to your last day sounds like perfection, especially when rain is included.
